Tonight the Cold Moon rises as the last full moon of 2022 Here are four self-care rituals you can practice as you set your intentions for this full moon and all of the ones that follow.
1. Slow down.
Now is not the time to be rushing. There is a lot of energy in the air right now, and you may feel extra overwhelmed. Obviously we all have things to do and places to be, and you may be thinking “slowing down is a luxury I don’t have right now.” We get it. Slowness feels so foreign in the modern world and you may not even know where to start. Tonight when you do your skincare regimen, take a little bit of extra time massaging your cleanser and serums into the skin.
2. Be in nature.
Bundle up and walk by water, or take your dog for a hike on a well-lit trail. Nature is grounding and calming, and can detox you from overstimulation of technology. Then, take the long way home and keep your phone on silent (there is that slowness, again. )
3. Breathe deeply.
It may feel like everyone is in a mood, or things feel off, including yourself! Let go of what you cannot control, and take deep breaths to get through hard moments. A drop-in yoga class might be what you didn’t know you needed.
4. Reflect.
Write down what you are grateful for, what you desire most in life, brain dump your thoughts, questions, concerns, and work through them. This introspection can bring clarity to your mind, which can be incredibly powerful!
Even if this all feels a little woo-woo to you, just take this is your reminder, and permission if you need it, to take a beat, protect your peace, and make your self care a priority ♥️
